This page contains links to statistical summaries of ANUSET data aggregated over 2005-2007. There are separate tables for Course, Large Group Teaching (Leturing) and Small Group Teaching (Tutoring/Demonstrating) Evaluations. The data within the tables are aggregated by College, Course Level (first/later year or honours/postgraduate) and Class Size (<21 or 21+). These factors are known to be associated with different patterns in student ratings. Therefore, such aggregations make it possible for you to make more appropriate and fair comparisons between your average ratings and those of similar courses.

The data has been aggregated over the last three years in order to provide an adequate number of courses in each breakdown for the analyses.Older data from 1995-2004 is available upon request. The data represent the means of course means, standard deviations of course means, and numbers of responses to each evaluation item. As the data is aggregated by courses as opposed to students, evaluations with a small amount of respondents and those with large numbers of respondents contribute equally to overall calculations.
In the interest of reliability and validity of the data, a number of control measures were taken in presenting these tables. The data was screened for duplicate evaluations and data errors and evaluations with less than 5 respondents were excluded from the data. In addition, statistics based on less than 5 evaluations were not reported.
In simple terms, the data summarises the means (averages) of students' ratings of courses and teaching. It also reports a measure of the variability between courses: the standard deviation of the course means. A larger standard deviation indicates more variability between courses.
